DUBLIN, Ohio (AP) — The Memorial Tournament is asking for the safe return of a stolen oversize golf ball sculpture created for a central Ohio public art project.
The Columbus Dispatch (http://bit.ly/1ajX4l2 ) reports police in suburban Dublin are offering a mulligan to whoever took the sculpture of a 3-foot golf ball on a tee this week. They say if it's returned undamaged by Saturday at midnight, no charges will be filed and no questions will be asked. After that, any suspects identified could face charges.
The $2,500 sculpture is decorated with the Memorial Tournament's logo and weighs more than 200 pounds.
It's one of 18 similar sculptures that were sold to sponsors, decorated by paid artists and displayed to celebrate the recent Presidents Cup and the annual Memorial Tournament.
