SITKA, Alaska (AP) — A Utah-based company is taking over all medevac flights for the Southeast Alaska Regional Health Consortium.
CoastAlaska reports (http://is.gd/RGKSQr) Guardian Flight of South Jordan, Utah, became the provider on Tuesday.
The company previously covered night service for the Sitka-based medical provider. The consortium previously operated its own medevac service for 12 hours a day, but recently laid off its medevac nurses.
Guardian Flight has bases in eight Alaska cities, including Sitka.
