BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — A second North Dakotan has died this year from the West Nile virus.
The state Department of Health says the person was a man who was older than 60 who lived in the southeast part of the state.
The agency says he died while in the hospital and had underlying medical conditions.
Epidemiologist Alicia Lepp with the North Dakota Department of Health says people should continue trying to prevent mosquito bites until there's a hard frost.
So far, 101 human West Nile virus cases have been reported in 28 counties this year.
The other death was a woman older than 60 years old who also lived in southeast North Dakota.
