CINCINNATI (AP) — A romantic accessories business with annual revenues of $100 million is moving its headquarters to downtown Cincinnati.
Pure Romance is now located in suburban Loveland, about 15 miles northeast of Cincinnati.
The company reconsidered its move to downtown Cincinnati after being denied $100,000 in state tax credits by JobsOhio, the state's privatized job-creation agency.
Company leaders felt the denial was because of the business' sexual nature and strongly considered moving to Kentucky instead.
But the company settled on Cincinnati, which had offered more than $350,000 in tax incentives.
The company plans to move 60 corporate jobs to Cincinnati, with plans to double that in the next three years.
Pure Romance sells sex toys, lotions, beauty products and other items through sales consultants at in-home gatherings.
