American Muslims condemn attacks in Kenya, Pakistan and Iraq

LOS ANGELES (AP) — American Muslims are condemning the attacks by Islamic extremists that have left hundreds dead at a church in Pakistan, a mall in Kenya and at Shiite mosques in Iraq.

The president of the Muslim Public Affairs Council, Salam Al-Marayati, denounced the attacks as inhuman. He said, "It's not a matter of theology. It's a cult."

In Washington, the Council on American-Islamic Relations agreed that "no one with a shred of humanity would commit such despicable acts against innocent men, women and children."

CAIR especially condemned what it called "horrific and un-Islamic attacks targeting the Christian community in Pakistan."
