BUENOS AIRES, Argentina (AP) — Bruce Springsteen has mustered his best Spanish in a tribute to the people of Argentina, singing a version of the song "I only ask of God" (Solo le pido a Dios) he says he learned from the late Argentine folk singer Mercedes Sosa.
Springstein gave a marathon 3-hour, 20-minute concert over the weekend and said he was too tired to sing in Spanish without botching the song. He said he would put it on his website instead. Now he's kept that promise. The site http://brucespringsteen.net has his soulful bilingual version Leon Gieco's anthem for Argentines recovering from their 1976-1983 dictatorship.
Introducing it in Spanish, recalls visiting Argentina 25 years earlier with Amnesty International's "Human Rights Now!" tour
