COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — Police in central Ohio say a man accused of selling fake tickets to a soccer match between teams from the United States and Mexico has been arrested on charges including forgery.
Columbus police say 43-year-old Anthony Dunston of Xenia was arrested Tuesday on charges of forgery and possession of criminal tools after he allegedly sold fake tickets to a man in a meeting arranged through Craigslist. Police said the tickets were found to be counterfeit after the Sept. 7 purchase when they were compared to one sold through an authorized ticket agent.
Police say a warrant was issued for Dunston, who was arrested Tuesday in Columbus. Court records do not list an attorney for him.
He was scheduled to be arraigned on the charges Thursday in Franklin County Municipal Court.
