COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — Authorities say a woman whose body was repeatedly run over on a major highway in Ohio's capital city earlier this month got out of a moving vehicle before she was struck and killed.
WBNS in Columbus (http://bit.ly/14c26wy ) reports that police say 22-year-old Jessica Lynn Nichols was traveling northbound on Interstate 71 on Aug. 21 when she got out of a vehicle. The station reports Columbus police say the woman survived the impact with the road but died after other vehicles hit her.
Media outlets have reported multiple drivers contacted police saying they thought they might have hit the body. Travelers reported the body in the middle of the road north of downtown Columbus.
