FAIRFIELD, Ohio (AP) — Family and friends have invited public to help celebrate the life of a 21-year-old woman whose skeletal remains were found 20 months after she went missing.
Visitation and a memorial service were planned Sunday afternoon at Fairfield High School for Katelyn (KAYT'-lin) Markham. Authorities have ruled her death a homicide, but still don't know how she died or who was responsible. Her remains were found near an Indiana creek in April.
People were urged to wear bright and vibrant colors to honor her. She was only weeks away from earning a bachelor's degree from an art college when she went missing two years ago. Her family plans to establish an arts scholarship in her name.
