DUARTE, Calif. (AP) — The California Highway Patrol says there are multiple injuries after a tour bus overturned today along a Southern California freeway.
The wreck stalled traffic for miles as helicopters and ambulances converged to take away the victims.
The patrol says the bus overturned onto the shoulder of Interstate 210. A CHP lieutenant tells a TV station (KTTV) that there were about 30 to 35 people on board the bus. He added that most of the injuries are not considered life-threatening.
TV news reports showed several people strapped to gurneys and being carried away. The bus, with all of its front windows knocked out, lay on its right side near some train tracks off the freeway shoulder.
