SAN DIEGO (AP) — This is the day on which San Diego's mayor was supposed to return to City Hall, after what he described as an intensive two-week therapy program.
Instead, Mayor Bob Filner was spotted not at City Hall, but entering a San Diego office building -- followed by attorney Gloria Allred and her client, Irene McCormack Jackson, who has filed a sexual harassment lawsuit against him.
The sightings by a San Diego TV station (KFMB) fueled speculation that a possible settlement was being discussed.
McCormack was the first of more than a dozen women to go public with harassment allegations against Filner. In addition to the lawsuit, Filner is facing a recall effort prompted by the allegations.
The entire City Council and many prominent fellow Democrats are calling on Filner to resign. City Councilman Kevin Faulconer today said, 'He doesn't represent us and he does not represent this city."
Faulconer was later seen entering the office building where Filner had been spotted. The councilman declined to comment.
