Motorcycle pair recovering from Ohio trooper crash

XENIA, Ohio (AP) — A southwest Ohio couple is recovering after the motorcycle they were riding was hit from behind by a State Highway Patrol trooper's vehicle.

The accident on U.S. 35 near Xenia (ZEEN'-yuh) on Saturday night is under investigation. Authorities say the riders were spared from serious injuries because they were wearing helmets.

Corey Waldman tells WDTN-TV in Dayton (http://bit.ly/14P4qJ9 ) that he knows it was an accident and wants the trooper to know that he forgives him. Waldman suffered a broken foot and other injuries and was hospitalized. His wife, Amy, also was hospitalized and was released Sunday.

Authorities have identified the trooper as 30-year-old Jacob Daymon. He wasn't seriously hurt, but authorities said he was visibly upset about the accident.
