Police: Cleveland man on run after kidnapping

CLEVELAND (AP) — Authorities in northeast Ohio are searching for a man who they say kidnapped his former girlfriend after shooting two of his relatives.

Police in Cleveland say the kidnapping happened Saturday morning.

They say 35-year-old Derrick Hudson shot his aunt and uncle who live in an apartment below his ex-girlfriend before kidnapped her at gunpoint.

Police say Hudson had been released from prison recently after serving 10 years for manslaughter in the killing of the woman's boyfriend at the time.

Police say Hudson was last seen driving the woman's red Dodge Magnum on Cleveland's east side.

One of the two people shot was in critical condition at a Cleveland hospital.
