LOS ANGELES (AP) — The family of a honeymooning tourist killed when a driver plowed a sedan through a crowd on the Venice Beach boardwalk says her death was a tremendous injustice.
Relatives of 32-year-old Alice Gruppioni said in a statement Monday that she was robbed of her life while living her dream of visiting California with her husband.
The statement says Gruppioni was a business-oriented person who never ceased to be a romantic girl dreaming about her bridal gown and meeting Prince Charming, which she did.
Saturday's hit-and-run rampage also injured 11 other peoples.
Authorities arrested a man after he walked into a police station and said he was involved. Investigators declined to discuss a motive but say 38-year-old Nathan Louis Campbell acted alone.
