Ohio airport's passengers up after new low in 2012

TOLEDO, Ohio (AP) — Passenger traffic at Toledo Express Airport has been up the last four months after the numbers dropped to an all-time low in 2012.

The number of people flying in and out of the airport increased by 17 percent in June.

Airport officials say the number of passengers is up slightly for the year. They credit a better economy and the addition of Allegiant Air's flights to southwest Florida.

There's been a steady drop in passengers at the Toledo airport over the last nine years as several carriers have dropped flights.

Just over 143,000 travelers passed through the airport in 2012.
