Paternity test planned for girl with Ohio women

CLEVELAND (AP) — Cleveland police say a paternity test will help determine whether a kidnapping and rape suspect fathered a 6-year-old girl who was with three women found at his home about a decade after their disappearances.

Deputy Police Chief Ed Tomba says the child is the daughter of Amanda Berry, who escaped the home Monday and made a frantic 911 call that led police to two more women.

The owner, 52-year-old Ariel Castro, was charged Thursday with kidnapping and raping the three women. Tomba says authorities got a warrant to get Castro's DNA.

Castro was in custody and couldn't be reached for comment.

Neighbor Israel Lugo said he recently saw the girl playing at a park with Castro. Lugo says Castro referred to the child as his "girlfriend's daughter."
