HILLSBORO, Ohio (AP) — Parents who are up in the air about what to do with their children Saturday in southwest Ohio can send them on a free flight.
The Highland County Pilots' Association and the Experimental Aircraft Association of Clermont County are putting on the event for children ages 8-17 from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. at Highland County Airport near Hillsboro. The flights in small planes are meant to get children enthused about flying and to spark their imagination.
The Times-Gazette of Hillsboro reports (http://bit.ly/10fISCP ) that the pilots hope what's called Young Eagles Day will result in some future pilots.
Children will get a certificate to commemorate their flight, can have photos taken, and can ask the pilots questions.
They must be accompanied at the airport by an authorizing adult.
