Man indicted in double shooting deaths in SW Ohio

DAYTON, Ohio (AP) — A southwest Ohio man has been indicted on aggravated murder charges in the shooting deaths of his ex-girlfriend and her male friend.

Montgomery County's prosecutor says 34-year-old Harvey L. Jones of Dayton was indicted Thursday in the Jan. 24 shootings of 32-year-old Carly Hughley and 29-year-old Demetrius Beckwith.

Prosecutor Mat Heck Jr. says Jones went to Hughley's Harrison Township home and made Hughley and Beckwith lie on the floor before he shot them multiple times.

Heck says Hughley's 10-year-old son witnessed the killings and ran to a nearby apartment for help. Heck says Jones fled after taking belongings from Hughley and Beckwith.

Jones was indicted on multiple charges of aggravated murder, aggravated burglary, aggravated robbery and kidnapping and weapons charges.

A message was left Thursday at his attorney's office.
