Woman found dead in SW Ohio creek is identified

SPRINGBORO, Ohio (AP) — Authorities say the body found floating in a creek in southwestern Ohio over the weekend is that of a 46-year-old woman from Springboro.

The Dayton Daily News (http://bit.ly/Xl0VKU ) reports that the Warren County coroner's office has ruled the death accidental — the result of Paula Scott hitting her head while falling into the creek.

Springboro Police Chief Jeff Kruithoff said a pedestrian found Scott's body in the creek at about 7:30 p.m. Saturday. He said there were no apparent signs of foul play.

It's not clear how long Scott's body had been in the creek, which is called Pleasant Valley Run. The deepest area of the small body of water is knee-level.
