CHILLICOTHE, Ohio (AP) — Authorities say a fire severely damaged a warehouse in a central Ohio industrial park, but there were no immediate reports of any injuries.
Firefighters from more than a dozen departments responded to the blaze that began Wednesday afternoon near Chillicothe (chihl-ih-KAHTH'-ee) in Ross County. That's about 50 miles south of Columbus.
Crews fought the blaze with water trucked in from elsewhere because of a lack of fire hydrants in the immediate area.
Ross County sheriff's Sgt. Mont Steele told The Chillicothe Gazette the fire apparently started when a burning piece of cardboard flew into the warehouse in the Schooley Station Industrial Park.
A sheriff's dispatcher says the fire was reported about 3 p.m., and firefighters were still battling the blaze hours later.
