Police probing Ohio woman's fatal stabbing

CLEVELAND (AP) — Police in Cleveland are still trying to determine who fatally stabbed a nurse on a downtown street over the weekend.

Police said 53-year-old Aliza Sherman, who lived in the Cleveland suburb of Beachwood, was found bleeding from stab wounds near a downtown mall Sunday afternoon. She died later at a hospital.

Police spokesman Sammy Morris said Sherman's purse was found at the scene and officers were trying to determine if anything was missing.

The Cleveland Clinic, where Sherman worked as an invitro fertilization nurse, released a statement Monday saying that she "has touched many lives and will always be remembered for her warmth and kindness."
