Ex-Senate president in Ohio takes adviser job

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — The former president of the state Senate has taken a job at the advisory arm of an Ohio-based law firm.

Republican Tom Niehaus (NEE'-hows), of New Richmond, will work for Vorys Advisors LLC, an affiliate of Vorys, Sater, Seymour and Pease, the largest Ohio-based law firm.

The firm says Niehaus will work in the advisory affiliate's Cincinnati office and also maintain an office in Columbus.

Niehaus left the Ohio Senate at the end of the last two-year legislative session because of term limits.

He's the second Ohio elected official this year to associate with the firm. Former Ohio Supreme Court Justice Evelyn Lundberg Stratton joined Vorys as a lawyer in January.

Niehaus joins a bipartisan team that includes Republican David Hobson and Democrat Zack Space, both former congressmen.
