YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (AP) — A group of North Dakota students left the place cleaner after traveling through Ohio en route to a service project in Washington, D.C.

About 30 students from North Dakota State University stopped in Youngstown during the past week while on a nine-day, 1,500-mile bus trip from Fargo, N.D., to Washington.

They spent part of their day in Ohio cleaning up at a children's hand-on science and technology center in Youngstown. They washed and disinfected tables, chairs and exhibits.

The students are part of a nondenominational organization that promotes leadership through community service.

The students were impressed with Ohio's 50-degree weather on a day when it was 3 degrees in Fargo. One student told The (Youngstown) Vindicator (bit.ly/10AVGWV) the Ohio weather felt like Florida for the North Dakota visitors.
