Hospital Day set at W.Va. Legislature

CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) — Doctors, nurses and medical staff representing more than 43,000 employees of West Virginia's hospitals are set to meet with state lawmakers to discuss issues affecting their facilities.

The West Virginia Hospital Association is sponsoring Hospital Day at the Legislature on Wednesday. About 150 healthcare professionals are expected to attend.

The event includes a briefing on key healthcare issues and comments from the heads of the Senate and House Health Committees.

Gov. Earl Ray Tomblin also is scheduled to deliver a Hospital Day Proclamation.

The West Virginia Hospital Association is a not-for-profit statewide organization representing 65 hospitals and health systems.
