At least 1 Wang to get a CFDA award _ and maybe 2

NEW YORK (AP) — Alexander Wang and Proenza Schouler are among the leading nominees for this year's Council of Fashion Designers of America awards.

CFDA president Diane von Furstenberg and CEO Steven Kolb announced Wednesday evening that Proenza's Lazaro Hernandez and Jack McCollough, and Wang are in the running for both womenswear designer of the year as well as the accessories category.

Marc Jacobs also is nominated for his women's collection, and Phillip Lim for accessories.

Thom Browne, Michael Bastian, and Steven Cox and Daniel Silver for Duckie Brown will compete for the top menswear prize.

Honorary awards will go to Vera Wang, Oscar de la Renta and costume designer Colleen Atwood. The international award will go to Givenchy's Riccardo Tisci.

The CFDA awards will be held June 3 at Lincoln Center.
