Asphalt tanker crash blocks northeast Ohio highway

MEDINA, Ohio (AP) — A tanker truck carrying asphalt has crashed and spilled its load in northeast Ohio, blocking a state highway.

Authorities say the accident occurred Wednesday morning along state Route 3 south of Cleveland, in Montville Township in Medina (meh-DY'-nuh) County.

The tanker truck wound up on its side, and authorities warned the highway could be closed for much of the day. The highway connects Medina and Wooster.

WEWS-TV (http://bit.ly/Y9mqyv ) reports a hazardous materials response crew joined police at the scene.

There was no immediate word on any injuries.
