CLIFTON PARK, N.Y. (AP) — Police say a bus carrying a college lacrosse team from Vermont has crashed in upstate New York.

Transportation officials say the accident happened just before noon Tuesday on Interstate 87 in Saratoga County, about 150 miles north of New York City. Police would not release information about injuries.

A trooper says the bus had 40 on board and was carrying men from St. Michael's College on their way to a game on Long Island when a car spun out on the wet highway and hit the bus. The bus landed on its side off the road.

The mangled wreckage of a red passenger car is lying in the median. Players in purple jackets and white shorts are being taken by school buses to a local firehouse.
