McALESTER, Okla. (AP) — A man convicted of killing three people in three states 13 years ago has been executed in Oklahoma.

Prison officials say 42-year-old Steven Ray Thacker, of Chouteau, Okla., was pronounced dead at 6:10 p.m. Tuesday in McAlester.

Thacker was sentenced to death for the 1999 murder of a Tulsa-area woman. He also was convicted of murders in Missouri and Tennessee.

Police say Thacker abducted 25-year-old Laci Dawn Hill from her home in Bixby and then raped and stabbed her.

Prosecutors say Thacker also killed 24-year-old Forrest Reed Boyd, of Aldrich, Mo., and 52-year-old Ray Patterson, of Dyersburg, Tenn., over the next 10 days.

Prosecutors say Thacker used Hill's credit cards to buy Christmas presents.

Seven months earlier, Thacker had completed a Florida prison term for writing bad checks.
