CLEVELAND (AP) — Part of a heavily used highway in the Cleveland area has reopened two days after a dump truck hit and damaged an overhead pedestrian bridge, prompting officials to reroute traffic.
The affected stretch of Interstate 90 reopened early Monday ahead of morning rush hour.
That section had been closed since a dump truck with its bed raised hit the bridge Saturday morning. No serious injuries were reported.
The Ohio Department of Transportation determined the damage to the walkway made the area unsafe. Crews worked through the weekend to dismantle the bridge and restore the flow of traffic.
Police were investigating why the dump truck's bed was raised at the time of the crash.
