Bumble Bee expands tuna recall

Monday March 11, 2013 5:15 PM

JUNEAU, Alaska (AP) — State officials say that Bumble Bee Foods has expanded its recall of tuna products.

The recall involves specific 5-ounce cans of chunk white albacore and chunk light tuna products. The items were sold under the Bumble Bee and Brunswick brand names between Jan. 17 and March 6.

The products are being recalled because of loose seals that could result in spoilage.

The state Department of Environmental Conservation warns that people who eat the tuna could become sick. No illnesses have been reported in Alaska.
