Judge blocks Cincinnati parking lease plan

CINCINNATI (AP) — A judge in Cincinnati put the city's new parking lease plan on hold for at least another week.

City officials voted to go ahead with the lease Wednesday night, but opponents found a judge who signed an order to stop it temporarily to determine if voters should have a say.

The Cincinnati Enquirer (http://cin.ci/Zr4pKd ) reports that leasing out the city's parking could help finance huge projects the city could never afford without the $92 million upfront payment.

The city was expecting the money by the end of June.

City officials say they aren't too concerned about the delay caused by the judge's order, but it could become a problem if it isn't resolved soon.
