2nd Jonah Lehrer book being pulled from shelves

NEW YORK (AP) — A second Jonah Lehrer book is being pulled off the shelves.

Houghton Mifflin Harcourt announced Friday that Lehrer's "How We Decide" was being taken "off sale." Spokeswoman Lori Glazer says the decision followed an internal review, but she didn't elaborate.

The book was originally published in 2009.

Lehrer's best-selling "Imagine" was withdrawn last year after Tablet Magazine reported that Lehrer had manipulated and fabricated Bob Dylan quotes.

The 31-year-old Lehrer had been a popular author and speaker specializing in books and essays about how the mind works. But he has also been criticized for sloppy scholarship and faulty reasoning and has admitted recycling his own journalism for separate publications.

During a recent speech in Miami, he blamed himself for "arrogance" and "carelessness" and expressed hope he could revive his career.
