GRANTS PASS, Ore. (AP) — An Oregon man who wrestled over a gun six years ago with the barrista who killed two Santa Cruz, Calif., police officers says he isn't surprised the gunman's life came to such a violent end.

Danny Thomas said Thursday that Jeremy Goulet also pulled a gun in Portland, Ore., when Thomas confronted him after catching him peeping on Thomas' girlfriend while she took a shower.

Authorities in California say Goulet was shot dead by police Tuesday after he shot two detectives who went to his home to question him about making unwanted advances on a co-worker.

Thomas says that when he fought Goulet, the gun went off twice while they wrestled on the ground, and he finally managed to get it away after biting off part of Goulet's ear.
