COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — Ohio State University police say a man wanted by West Virginia and Massachusetts authorities could be in the campus area.
On its website, campus police say 23-year-old Michael Moses Tarpeh is being sought in Morgantown, W.Va., for aggravated assault and attempted sexual assault and in Massachusetts for an armed carjacking, robbery and assault and battery on a motorist. They say warrants also are pending with the University of Connecticut police.
Tarpeh is not an OSU student.
U.S. Marshal's Office spokesman Brad Fleming tells WBNS-TV that there have been no reports of Tarpeh in the Ohio State campus area but that he has previously committed crimes around college campuses. Fleming says Tarpeh is believed to be in the Columbus area based on reports from authorities in West Virginia.
