RIVERSIDE, Calif. (AP) — Evacuations are under way because of a fast-moving blaze near a number of homes and buildings in Riverside County, Calif., about 60 miles east of Los Angeles.

Homes along two streets in the city of Riverside have been ordered evacuated because the fire continues to burn out of control.

About 200 firefighters, a helicopter and other equipment have been dispatched to a regional park (Rancho Jurupa) where the blaze is situated. It's sending up huge billows of smoke that are visible throughout the region.

The National Weather Service has issued a wind advisory for gusty offshore winds in Riverside County valleys, which may be fanning the flames. The advisory is in effect until 2 p.m. Saturday.
