CINCINNATI (AP) — The Cincinnati Enquirer is about to roll out a smaller-sized newspaper.
The Enquirer says its newly designed newspaper will debut on March 11 and be easier for readers to hold and easier to read.
The pages will be narrower and about one-third shorter than the broadsheet product. It will be delivered to readers folded in half to roughly the size of a magazine.
The Enquirer (http://cin.ci/VFSVn6) says the new format will allow for bolder headlines and fewer stories that have to be continued on other pages.
The Columbus Dispatch made a similar format change earlier this year and reached an agreement with The Enquirer to print the newspaper. The Enquirer is closing its Cincinnati printing plant.
