Vt nursing home could reopen after boiler fire

RUTLAND, Vt. (AP) — A Vermont nursing home that was evacuated after a boiler fire could be reopening.

Officials say the boiler exploded Tuesday at the Rutland Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center.

The Rutland Herald reports (http://bit.ly/YIpiyQ) 89 residents at Rutland Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center were moved Tuesday afternoon and evening to temporary locations as far away as Claremont, N.H. after a boiler exploded.

Most were taken by ambulance to other senior residential communities in the Rutland area or to Rutland Regional Medical Center.

Two workers were taken to the hospital on Tuesday for injuries. The nursing home is expected to reopen on Friday.
