SPRINGFIELD, Ohio (AP) — A judge has found a former Ohio college professor not guilty of raping a 19-year-old developmentally disabled man.
The judge in Springfield acquitted former Wittenberg University professor Hollant "Max" Adrien following a bench trial Thursday.
According to The Dayton Daily News (http://bit.ly/YpUBO8 ), the Haitian-born French teacher was accused of rape and kidnapping in connection with an incident last August.
The 52-year-old Adrien testified that he got to know the man and had consensual sex with him in a car. He said he didn't realize the young man was developmentally disabled, saying he thought the teen "just talked funny."
Police say Adrien has been linked to two other attacks targeting teenage boys. He denies the charges.
