Vt nursing home could reopen after boiler fire

RUTLAND, Vt. (AP) — A Vermont nursing home that was evacuated after a boiler fire could reopen Friday.

Officials say the boiler exploded Tuesday at the Rutland Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center.

The Rutland Herald reports (http://bit.ly/YIpiyQ) 89 residents at the center were moved Tuesday afternoon and evening to temporary locations as far away as Claremont, N.H.

Most were taken by ambulance to other senior residential communities in the Rutland area or to Rutland Regional Medical Center.

Two workers were taken to the hospital on Tuesday for injuries.
