TRIADELPHIA, W.Va. (AP) — A new study says nursing will top the field of future worker shortages in West Virginia.
The study by West Liberty University's Institute for Innovation in Education compared the number of college degrees awarded in the state with the anticipated job market.
It also projects shortages in social work, computer sciences, education administration, and medical-related fields such as dental technicians.
Media outlets report that lead researcher Serkan Catma released the study Monday.
Catma says higher education institutions should look at occupations that are not only the fastest growing, but also are expected to experience a labor shortage.
