CINCINNATI (AP) — The University of Cincinnati is ready to spend $2 million on design work for a new pavilion at its football stadium, as it begins a major project aimed at attracting an invitation from the Atlantic Coast Conference or other major conference.

The school's board of trustees was meeting Tuesday with plans to vote on the design work. Estimated at $70 million to $75 million, the renovation would add more than 1,000 box seats and 28 private suites at Nippert Stadium. Targeted for 2015 completion, it would be funded through bonds repaid with donations and ticket revenue.

The Cincinnati Enquirer reports (http://cin.ci/15rUJDW ) that the school sent a video description of the stadium project to all ACC presidents. Cincinnati is looking for an alternative to the Big East, hit by member departures.
