CLEVELAND (AP) — A second Republican congressman from Ohio has been appointed to the tax-writing House Ways and Means Committee.

Second-term congressman Jim Renacci (reh-NAY'-see) of northeast Ohio was appointed Thursday by committee chairman Dave Camp of Michigan.

Renacci's district stretches from Canton west to Ashland and north to Medina (meh-DY'-nuh) in suburban Cleveland.

Because of House rules on committee assignments, Renacci will leave the House Financial Services Committee.

Renacci fills a Ways and Means vacancy created when South Carolina Republican Tim Scott was appointed to a Senate vacancy.

Ohio's Pat Tiberi (TEE'-bayr-ee) of suburban Columbus also serves on the Ways and Means Committee.
