LIMA, Ohio (AP) — An Ohio prison guard has been suspended while authorities look into claims of an assault involving two inmates.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol is looking into allegations that the guard put a handcuffed inmate inside a segregation cell with another inmate who raped him.
The incident being investigated is said to have happened in mid-January at the Allen Oakwood Correctional Facility near Lima.
The Lima News (http://bit.ly/VbVuiN ) reports state patrol records say the guard is under investigation for dereliction of duty and negligently failing to perform duties.
The inmate accused of carrying out the attack also is under investigation.
