NEW ORLEANS (AP) — Tomás Bruha, a junior center for the Tulane men's basketball team, underwent season-ending surgery of his left knee last week.

Coach Ed Conroy said Friday that Bruha's surgery was to reconstruct his anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee.

The Prague, Czech Republic, native, was averaging 1.8 points and 2.3 rebounds for the Green Wave in 18 games with 10 starts before injuring his knee. Bruha was averaging just under 10 minutes a game.

Conroy says losing Bruha is a tough loss for the team. He says he was an important part of the inside game both on the offensive and defensive ends of the floor."

Bruha also missed all but nine games last season with an injury to his right knee.
