MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) — Thirteen children and two adults have safely escaped a burning daycare center in Memphis.

An alarm sounded as the children at Nana's Rocking Rhyme Learning Center were having breakfast Thursday morning.

Lt. Wayne Cook of the Memphis Fire Department said the older children lined up as they had been taught to do in regular fire drills and quickly left the building. The children were between 1 and 4 years old.

Cook said there was fire and smoke damage to the upstairs at the center and an investigation was under way to determine what started the blaze.
