HERKIMER, N.Y. (AP) — Authorities say a trooper and a woman motorist suffered minor injuries in the collision of a state police cruiser and a car in a Mohawk Valley village.

State police say the accident happened at about 6 a.m. Thursday in Herkimer, 60 miles east of Syracuse.

They say 30-year-old Trooper Nathan Harder was heading to the scene of a domestic attack with his warning lights on when he went through a red light and ran broadside into a 2009 Toyota driven by 30-year-old Jessica Gilmartin of Jordanville.

Harder was released from a hospital after treatment for neck, shoulder and wrist pain. Gilmartin was treated for an abdominal cut and pain and also released.

Troopers say the accident is under investigation.
