MANSFIELD, Ohio (AP) — Prosecutors have recommended house arrest for a former Ohio Department of Youth Services parole officer convicted of hiring prostitutes while on duty.

Mansfield News Journal (http://ohne.ws/U9GCzY ) reports that 55-year-old Edward Favers pleaded guilty Monday in Richland County to one felony count each of tampering with records and promoting prostitution, and two misdemeanor counts of procuring or soliciting prostitution.

Fifteen other counts were dismissed. He'll be sentenced April 8.

Favers was arrested and charged after he was seen picking up one or more prostitutes in his state-owned vehicle while on duty. Officials say he took them to his pontoon boat at a marina and later falsified his employee time card and other records.

He could face a maximum sentence of about 4 ½ years in prison.
