SALEM, Va. (AP) — Representatives from the American Legion will be in Salem this week to discuss women veterans' health care.
The organization's System Worth Saving Task Force will hold a town hall on Tuesday at American Legion Post 3 in Salem. The town hall is an opportunity for women veterans to discuss the quality of health care that they receive from Veterans Affairs medical facilities.
Task force members also plan to interview patients, staff and administrators at Salem VA Medical Center.
The task force's Salem visit is part of a tour of 15 VA medical centers across the country.
American Legion deputy director for health Jacob Gadd says feedback received from women veterans helps the organization understand what challenges they have and recommendations for improving their health care.
