CINCINNATI (AP) — An assistant principal at a Catholic school in Cincinnati is about to be fired over a blog post he wrote in support of gay marriage.

The Cincinnati Enquirer (http://cin.ci/XCmGU9) reports that the Archdiocese of Cincinnati placed Mike Moroski on administrative leave Feb. 4 and plans to fire him.

An archdiocese spokesman says he couldn't comment on a personnel matter.

Moroski has refused to take down the blog post and has hired an attorney, although he does acknowledge that he violated the archdiocese's social media policy.

The 34-year-old, who is married, says he believes in Catholicism but has to follow his conscience when it comes to gay rights.

Moroski is in his second year at Purcell Marian High School after teaching English at Moeller High School for 10 years.
