LEXINGTON, Ky. (AP) — Two companies and a businessman charged with money laundering and conspiracy to distribute Oxycodone are set to be arraigned in federal court in Lexington.

Attorneys for Double D Holdings and S&R Medical Enterprises are scheduled to appear before U.S. Magistrate Judge Robert E. Weir on Feb. 20.

The two companies and the owner of the businesses, 44-year-old Ernest William Singleton, were indicted Friday on charges of doling out prescriptions for pain killers with little or no medical examinations.

Singleton closed his pain management centers in Georgetown and Dry Ridge in Kentucky, and opened a clinic in Jeffersonville, Ind., after Kentucky lawmakers passed a sweeping bill last year to try to curtail prescription abuse.
